Follow My Journey on Growing my Selling Journey

eBay

eBay is a great option, which I currently use, to sell your items.  I will go through the following steps to show you how make money on eBay.
  • Listing: If you list items not efficiently then it takes time away from growing your throughput
    • Buy It Now (BIN) vs. Auctions
    • What price do I start my items off with?
    • What do I put in the description?
  • Adding pictures: My tips to finalizing your listing with easy to add pictures is key.
  • Shipping: How do I ship items and how do I list with the shipping option?
  • Returns: How and when do I take returns?

eBay: Listing

  • To list items quickly and correctly I first go to the search box at the top.  I usually copy and paste the wording from the Liquidation.com website, or I type in what the item's title is from the box.
  • Once the search results are displayed I am doing two things.
    • Item: I'm looking through the results (usually the first couple) looking at which listing I want to mirror.  I look at listing title and if its the correct item.  The reason why I'm looking at the title is as I don't want to retype the title.
    • Pricing: I'm trying to get a feel for what I want to sell my item for given what the search results displayed.  I will usually list as the lowest price are a couple dollars above the lowest price.
  • Pricing is determined by two factors,
    • Quality: How well does the item work, does it include all pieces?
    • Box/Package:  Is the box ripped, damaged or even included?

Next, click on the listing, and click the "Sell Now" button
  • Once you click the "Sell now" button, it will open up a partially filled in listing template.

  1. Title: Edit the header if it needs it (i.e. remove any wording like "new" if not applicable, or model number editing
  2. Condition: New, New (Other), Used, For Parts or Broken
    1. New - A brand-new, unused, unopened, undamaged item in its original packaging.  I will only used this listing if the box is in good condition and UNOPENED
    2. New (Other) - A new, unused item with absolutely no signs of wear. The item may be missing the original packaging, or in the original packaging but not sealed. The item may be a factory second or a new, unused item with defects.  Most of the time I use this one when item is not defective
    3. Used - An item that has been used previously. The item may have some signs of cosmetic wear, but is fully operational and functions as intended. This item may be a floor model or store return that has been used.  I will use this listing if working and/or partially defective.  List additional items in the description.
    4. For Parts or Broken: An item that does not function as intended and is not fully operational. This includes items that are defective in ways that render them difficult to use, items that require service or repair, or items missing essential components.  I use this if item is totally or partially defective and can't be used as intended.
  3. Description: I will keep my descriptions short and sweet.  Only if I'm explaining why something is defective or missing will I go into detail and included "SOLD AS IS".  Usually I will say "Tested and Functional" and thats it!
  4. Payment Options:  If its a Buy It Now make sure you select "Require Immediate Payment"
  5. Returns: I always select 30 day returns because my experience most of the time eBay will require some sort of return.  Plus I feel buyers have confidence if sellers offer returns.
  6. Photos:  Do not add any photos

Click "Save Listing"
  • Open the eBay app on your phone, go to Selling and open your selling Drafts
  • Once in the listing, click the add photos using your camera.
  • Usually I will take 1 photo if the item is box, or if it requires multiple photos, Ill just snap them with my phone.
  • Once photos are added I complete the listing.

Wash, Rinse and Repeat for the next Listing!
